Voices in Education
So much focus in eastern Kentucky is about deficiencies and poor performance by students or educators. Voices in Education will celebrate the positive stories in the region’s local communities.
The voice comes from students who are benefiting from new technologies, improved curriculum and community involvement. Stories by students demonstrate the value of education. They show how today’s experiences are on the cutting edge of educational advancement.
Forward in the Fifth (FIF) is launching a regional video competition for its Voices in Education initiative; they are asking students to develop a short 15-30 second video clip capturing their positive educational experiences and ideas for a chance to win a mobile tablet.
FIF wants to hear from middle, high school, and college students throughout Southern and Eastern Kentucky about their great experiences in school. The theme of the video should incorporate the idea of “innovation.”
Contest guidelines, including brief prompts, are provided for students on the registration form available HERE.
